When you are a new mommy, you really do need all the help you can get! I have done it 4 times now, and trust me it doesn’t get any easier! But sometimes you feel bad asking your friends and family for help all of the time. You don’t want to put any pressure on them, and you feel like you should be able to cope yourself anyway! With all the great new technology around, why not let it help us out a little! It means we can steer well clear of the dreaded word ‘help’! Here are 5 great gadgets I have found that I really think will help new mommys.
1. An Automatic Baby Rocker
One of these will really save your arms! While they cost a pretty penny, if they help your little one then they might just be worth it. Some rock and some bounce, it would be worth trying them out in a shop to see which type your little one prefers!
2. A Sound Machine
A sound machine is a great gadget to try out if you are feeling sleep deprived. You have probably been running around after a demanding baby all day and then are being woken up in the night by screams. In this case, it is really important that you are getting your beauty sleep as soon as your head hits the pillow, and not just snoozing. You need quality sleep! A sound machine uses scientific theory to help you sleep, as the noise it outputs will prevent stimulation of the brain.
3. An Audio Monitor
Audio monitors have been about for years so you can hear your baby while you are in a different room. But in recent years they have really improved this piece of kit! Now as well as being able to hear your baby, you can now get devices that have a camera on so you can actually see them too. This will keep your mind at ease when they move into their own room.
4. Self Folding Stroller
A stroller that folds itself away is a really nifty invention. Nothing is worse than trying to console an upset baby at the same time as trying to fold away your stroller. All you have to do is press a button, and it’s all done for you! They are pretty expensive, but useful if you can afford it!
5. A Pocket Nanny
Pocket nanny is a gadget that you can rely on to take some of the workload off your shoulders. This device is so clever that it will remind you whenever you need to do any baby tasks. There is a timer next to each duty, such as feeding and nappy changing, which you are then reminded of if you leave it a little too long!
