Heart Garland
Decorating
for Valentine's Day is a blast with this easy to make heart garland!
All you need is some simple materials and you have the tools for child
to have some V-Day fun. Kids may need a bit of parents help with this
one unless they are old enough to use a needle by themselves.
Materials Needed:
Paint Brush
Red Paint
Cardboard Tube
Beads
Embroidery Thread
Needle
Push Pins
Directions:
1) Cut the cardboard tube in half and brush the halves inside and out with your red paint. Let dry.
2) Flatten the halves, and then cut them into one inch segments. Shape each one inch segment into a heart by pushing in a crease towards the center of each one. Use your push pin to create a hole in the top and bottom of each heart so you can later string your thread through.
3) Thread and knot your needle with the embroidery thread. Slide a bead on until it reaches the knotted end. Now loop back with your needle through the bead again from top to bottom.
4) Now you can thread a heart on! Use the same looping technique from above to secure it in place. Continue repeating the process until you have all your hearts and beads stranded perfectly to create your garland!
