Finding the Right Textbooks Online
If you want to buy world history textbooks online, you have to make sure that you get the right ones for your class. With many of these books, new editions are put out every year. Sometimes, not much is added from one year to the next, but the changes can, at other times, be significant. The first thing to do is to look at the ISBN. This is the unique number that is assigned only to one edition. If you can get the ISBN for the book that you need for your class and then match it up with the ISBN on the website, you know that you have the right book. Another thing to look for is simply the edition number. Even if it is the same book that is being put out every year, with the same author and the same title, it may be labeled as Edition Two or Edition 15. These are simply examples; the real numbers depend on how many times the book has been altered and printed. If you get the same edition, it is going to be correct. If all else fails, it may not be a bad idea to ask the professor if the edition matters. Sometimes, professors just pick the most recent edition because it is the one they own, but they know that you can take the class with any copy of the book. If they tell you that this is the case, you can buy it without worrying at all.
