Each pouch of Garlic Essence contains over 13 Monviso California Heirloom cloves. This product has a wide variety of uses including as a spread, as a marinade, and to saute. Some wonderful uses include incorporating Garlic Essence into mashed potatoes, as an addition to pasta sauces, and even as a mayo substitute on sandwiches. When I was approached with the opportunity to review Garlic Essence I was interested because I incorporate garlic often in my cooking and I liked the idea of a product that offered a way to add a touch of garlic without the task of chopping and peeling. I also like ingredients Garlic Essence uses, which is important to me. The fact that they use non-GMO soybean oil, as well as the addition of the Monviso California Heirloom cloves is great. Taste wise I love the addition of the extra virgin olive oil and the touch of lemon juice. The taste of Garlic Essence truly embodies that of fresh garlic and I love that I can grab the pouch out of my fridge and get that when I need it at any time while cooking for a dash or two when needed!
When I started thinking of ideas for where I wanted to incorporate Garlic Essence into my cooking so my whole family could help me out with this review the light bulb came on and I thought, what about using it along with some melted butter and seasonings for corn on the cob? Here's what I came up with:
Garlic Essence Corn on the Cob
Ingredients:
4 large ears of corn on the cob
1 stick of softened butter
1/2 tsp. Garlic Essence
Salt and pepper optional for taste
4 strips of tinfoil to bake your corn cobs rolled up individually
Directions:
1) Mix together butter and Garlic Essence until well combined. Add a pinch or two of salt and pepper for taste if preferred. Stir together.
2) Brush mixture onto each ear of corn one at a time. After brushing on mixture, place your ears of corn onto the strips of tinfoil and roll up, making sure to fold up the ends. Place them together in a baking dish.
3) Bake in a 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes. Enjoy!
This dinner side dish was so simple to whip up and let me tell you, the house smelled amazing while these were cooking up! The kids ate their ears of corn up right away and could not stop raving about them. I would have to say that Garlic Essence was definitely a hit at my house and I am going to continue experimenting with it in the kitchen to see what I can do next. I'm thinking I'm going to jazz up my spaghetti sauce and even see how the kids like it added in with their tuna sandwiches! I would definitely recommend Garlic Essence!
