October is Vegetarian Awareness Month. For me, vegetarian awareness is 12 months out of the year, but for those of you who are interested in learning more about a vegetarian diet there's no better time than now! I became a vegetarian 16 months ago and I have never looked back. I'm a solo vegetarian in my house. My husband and kids eat meat and you know what, that's okay with me! I still cook their meat for them and I would never try to force them into a vegetarian diet. I've had some wonderful fellow moms comment on past posts of mine that are also solo vegetarians in their home as well. I'm not alone, hooray!
Tonight I came across this great infographic by RetailMeNot in support of Vegetarian Awareness Month. This infographic brings up a lot of reasons why I don't eat meat, in addition to not wanting to harm animals for food of course. The benefits I love that are brought up in the infographic (which I posted below) are lower cholesterol, a lower risk of cancer, and for overall health. Check it out!
