Today is Day 2 of the 21 Day Mommy Blogger Weight Loss Challenge, put on by Dustin Maher, author of Fit Moms for Life. So I ate some non fat yogurt for breakfast and then proceeded to get my workout completed. I prefer getting the workout done in the morning so that I not only get it out of the way early, but also because I find if I just do it early and get it done, I'm not giving myself enough time to come up with excuses like I have on past weight loss attempts.
I did go to the store today and I bought a stock of quality, healthy foods to get me through. I stocked up on some veggies and some high protein options. I needed to stock up on higher protein foods anyways due to being a vegetarian and not always getting the protein I need to substitute for meat. I followed Dustin's advice and bought some natural peanut butter and some whole wheat bread. Oh, and I also stocked up on my favorite Special K Fruit and Yogurt cereal for when I get a craving for something sweet later in the evening. No more fatty ice cream and cakes! Now if I could just get my husband to eat healthier and get conscious of his health in general, this would be so much easier! While I ate my chef salad (minus the meat) and a side of low fat cottage cheese for lunch, I was secretly drooling over his deli made oven baked sandwich. So I mentally slapped myself on the wrist and told myself it was not healthy, even though it had the yummy mozarella rounds soaked in the herb olive oil. ( Bad thoughts, I know.)
So now to the other highlights of my day. I took an hour nap before the kids got home. My behind was whopped from today's workout and I seriously needed that nap, hands down. I'm counting on Dustin saying this soreness will go away after about a week because I'm so sore I'm finding it hard to get into a sitting or standing position once sitting. And don't even ask me about walking right now lol! I wonder what people thought of my duck waddle in the grocery store? While my husband found it humorous, I'm feeling like a car ran over my body! Are any of you other ladies taking the challenge as sore as this? I'm stretching before the workout and cooling down with stretches afterwards. Maybe I'm just that out of shape, which is a darn good possibility. Anyways, I'm sticking with it through the ups and downs and I am rooting for all us moms in this challenge. We can do this!
Good job avoiding that not so healthy sandwich ...my mouth is kind of drooling thinking about it...time for some water I guess lol. Give it a few days and your body will start feeling better. I know I am more sore this morning..and I still havent done the cardio/core workout...so I am going to be waddling a lot tomorrow. No pain no gain right? Thanks for stopping by my blog too, and sending your prayers for my daughter...I truly appreciate it! Good luck!
